Everyone has something to live for. There are breaking points of life that either take you many steps back, or they make you find yourself at a new level of understanding. There are events that become history and mark our life as parts that were before and after. There are things that are clearly labeled as "Made in Heaven". As you have most likely guessed, we are talking about Novi Jerusalem concert that they played together with Belarus Republic State Academy orchestra directed by Alexander Anisimov.
I dare say one dream is good but two dreams is twice better. NOVI was dreaming to play a concert with a symphonic orchestra, just as Alexander Anisimov had a dream to play a concert with a rock band, too. And these two drams had met each other in Heaven and then in the orchestra pit. The sympathy of the both parties of the project was mutual, and the barriers were down before they had time to rise.
Next step was hard yet interesting - making both parties equal in performing responsibility by adapting NOVI music for being played by an orchestra yet keeping the changes minimal. Masters of adapting were Dmitry Petrovski, Yevgeny Grechany, Alexander Nikolayev and Alexander Dmitrievich.
Time was short; they had to work from dawn till midnight. But this is nothing unusual for musicians. 3 packages of paper 500 pieces each to provide notes for the orchestra and we were able to start rehearsing together. More corrections and adaptations, symphony sounds mixing with rock were like icebergs melting in the minds of orchestrants as they were beginning to join in the singing of "Indigo Sky" and "I will give to you…".
NOVI were doing their best to play softer allowing the orchestra do their part, but the latter didn't mind blending into the music, as the work continued peacefully. It was obvious that the 50 orchestra musicians that have traveled to half of the world countries loved sharing stage with rock musicians. Master Anisimov too was blending in with NOVI perfectly thanks to his huge mass of wild hair.
Minsk concert hall has never before witnessed such a great amount of boxes and wires and microphones of all sizes possible. And in matter of hours (thanks to SPASENIE band that brought their equipment from Best specially for this concert) all that preparations brought light and sound to life.
It is hard to describe the show. If you were there and it left you untouched, let us know. But if you were there and it has moved you, even bigger the reason to write! Oh cry and grieve all you who chose to ignore the concert and rejoice all you who witnessed such a memorable history day! What was written on the lines of the hearts of NOVI guys was copied to hundreds hearts more for the joy and love of our God is more contagious than hatred. We are children of One Love! The epidemics is coming!
P.S. To console those who are crying and weeping we are arranging to sell DVD and CD recording of the concert. Pease inquire in all shopping places you visit!
